Who pays for a jail or detention facility notary appointment?+
Jail and detention notary services are generally privately arranged and paid for by the person requesting the service, such as a family member, spouse, attorney, law firm, or other authorized party. Government or agency billing applies only when LA Notary On Call has been specifically retained, authorized, or issued an appropriate purchasing arrangement by that government agency or organization. Being an approved or registered vendor does not mean that a government agency will automatically pay for a privately requested appointment.
What is a mobile notary?+
A mobile notary is a commissioned notary public who travels to the client instead of requiring the client to visit a notary office. You choose a convenient location and the notary meets you there.
Where can you meet me?+
Appointments can take place at homes, offices, hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing facilities, hotels, businesses, other mutually agreed locations, or near Brand Boulevard & Monterey Road in Glendale after confirmation.
Do you offer evening appointments?+
Yes, evening appointments are available. Availability depends on the date and location, so please call, text, or send an appointment request.

Yes, weekend appointments are available. Availability depends on the date and location, so please contact us to check.
What identification should I bring?+
Each signer needs acceptable identification that satisfies California notarial requirements. See the identification required for notarization page for the common forms of acceptable ID. If you are unsure whether your identification qualifies, contact us before the appointment.
Can you come to a hospital?+
Yes. Hospital, assisted living and nursing facility appointments are available, subject to facility rules and the signer being willing and able to communicate with the notary.
Can you notarize a Power of Attorney?+
Yes, a power of attorney signature can be notarized. The notary cannot prepare the document or advise you about its contents.
Can you tell me which notarial certificate I need?+
No. California notaries are not permitted to choose the notarial act for you. Please ask the person or organization that prepared or will receive the document.
Can you provide legal advice?+
No. LA Notary On Call is not a law firm and the notary cannot draft documents, select a notarial act, or give legal advice. Please consult a licensed attorney for legal guidance.
How do I request an appointment?+

Is my appointment confirmed when I submit the website form?+
No. Submitting the form sends an appointment request. LA Notary On Call will contact you to confirm availability, location and applicable fees.
Are travel fees separate from notarization fees?+
Yes. The notarial fee, any mobile travel fee, after-hours fee, and actual parking, toll, or access costs are separate items and are confirmed with you before the appointment is accepted. There is no weekend surcharge and no same-day surcharge.
